Varsity Mock Trial

The UofT Varsity Mock Trial team is an ambitious program that competes in domestic and international mock trial competitions located in Canada and the United States. As the first officially-recognised UofT St. George Mock Trial team, we pride ourselves for being a proudly Canadian team that provides opportunities for University of Toronto students to gain dynamic experience in and interact with the Canadian and U.S. legal and judicial systems

Varsity Mock Trial provides pre-law students with trial simulations that develop skills in oral advocacy, legal research, critical thinking, argumentation, and writing. The team offers a valuable undergraduate experience for students of all backgrounds interested in exploring a future legal career.

Beyond competition, Varsity Mock Trial is committed to fostering professional development, collaboration, and mentorship. Through hands-on experience and engagement with the legal community, members gain practical skills, build lasting connections, and develop the confidence to pursue future opportunities in law and beyond.

VMT fosters a community of dedicated students and legal professionals through networking and competition, including international opportunities. Structured like a law firm, with roles ranging from managing partners to junior attorneys and paralegals, the team offers diverse opportunities for all students interested in pre-law activities.
